The major highlight from this week was participating in the fall Garage Gym Competition! If you’ve never heard of the Garage Gym Competition (GGC), it is a bi-annual virtual powerlifting meet that happens every Spring and Fall. All you have to do is record yourself performing a Squat, Bench, and Deadlift and post on social media. Anyone who participates, is automatically entered in to win a number of prizes from legitimate gym equipment companies, kids included! The idea is to bring the home gym community together and have fun! Pretty much anything counts as long as it remotely resembles a squat, bench, or deadlift. This year, for example, instead of a classic deadlift, I used a REP Open Trap Bar since it was more aligned with my current training and programming.
